Welcome to the Comann Eachdraidh Lios Mòr web site. The society was set up in 1991 by a group of Liosachs (people from Lismore).
Lismore is an island on the west coast of Scotland. It is 10 miles long and a maximum of 1 mile wide and at present has a population of approximately 180.
Please support Comann Eachdraidh Lios Mòr in our quest to raise money to help maintain our Heritage Centre and add to the archival displays in our popular museum. Cheques should be made payable to Comann Eachdraidh Lios Mòr and sent to Lismore Heritage Centre, Port a' Charrain, Isle of Lismore, Argyll, PA34 5UL, Scotland. All donations are gratefully received.
Membership of the society is also available.

VOLUNTEERS FOR THE LISMORE MUSEUM ARCHIVE
The LISMORE FACES project has been a great success at the museum, attracting a lot of interest among visitors as well as locals. We have learned a great deal about Lismore from the responses to the displays that Margaret Black and Laura Gloag have mounted.
As a result of this and other activities, the archive has received a flood of new material, documents and photographs, that need to be accessioned and catalogued. Some of this fascinating material is of national importance and needs to be properly recorded.
So, the museum is asking for help from volunteers in the community to take part in cataloguing work – even a few hours here and there. Before the project starts, we will arrange for professional training for those who want to take part.
